Discover UKAN Winery – A New Vision for Rioja Alavesa

We’re really excited to be welcoming Alejandro from UKAN Winery on Thursday 26th February. They are one of the most exciting modern producers to emerge from Rioja Alavesa in recent years. 

Founded in 2018 by Koldo Eguren — fifth generation of the renowned Eguren family (Sierra Cantabria) — UKAN focuses on small plots of sustainably farmed, old-vine Tempranillo around the village of Laguardia. They produce two wines: the Grand Vin, UKAN, and its second wine, Senderos de UKAN. For this tasting, we’ll be exploring both wines across multiple vintages, showing how they evolve year to year.

This is a chance to taste some of Rioja Alavesa’s most exciting wines, all highly rated by top wine critics. And naturally, no Rioja tasting would be complete without our Rioja specialist Jamie Tonkin, sharing his thoughts on the region, how we found UKAN, and what makes these wines so special to us.
