Vire Clesse, Jules du Souzy
Type: White Wine
Grape(s): Chardonnay
Wine Region: Burgundy, France
Tasting Notes: Bright with a golden-green hue, this is a fresh, characterful Mâcon from old vines in Viré and Clessé. Aromas lean towards Muscat, apricot and exotic fruit, with a gentle touch of creaminess and a hint of butterscotch. On the palate, it’s rounded yet lively — think white peach, pear and juicy stone fruit, balanced by a clean mineral edge and fine acidity. Partial malolactic fermentation and eight months on fine lees give it that lovely texture without losing its freshness.
Suggested food and wine pairing: Try with sauteed sweet potato with spices.
