Description

Type: White Wine
Grape(s): Chardonnay
Wine Region: Languedoc Roussillon, France

Tasting Notes: This Chardonnay is a bright, approachable style with generous aromas of citrus blossoms, green apple, pear and hints of nectarine or peach, showing a lively, fresh character typical of Chardonnay from a warm, sunny region. Aged in stainless steel to retain the lovely freshness of this wine.

The Producer: Pierre & Antonin was created by two friends, Pierre Caizergues and Antonin Bonnet, who both grew up in winemaking families in the Languedoc. After unexpectedly meeting in a New York wine bar in 2010, they decided to join forces with a shared aim: to show a brighter, more contemporary side to Southern French wine. Their small six-hectare estate sits near Carcassonne, where vines grow on limestone and slate soils looking toward the Pyrenees. The focus is on clarity of fruit, balance, and minimal intervention. Low-sulphur, naturally made wines and environmentally conscious packaging are central to their approach, and their thoughtful, distinctive style has already attracted attention well beyond France. They’re very much part of the new generation bringing fresh ideas and personality to the Languedoc wine scene.

Suggested food and wine pairing: Pair with grilled mackerel or soft cheeses.
