A Proper Claret for Christmas – Classic Saint-Estèphe Elegance
Old vines (40–50 years) and meticulous winemaking bring richness and detail. Expect dark berry fruit, cedar, graphite and a gentle hint of tobacco on the nose. The palate is refined and well-balanced, with fine tannins, fresh acidity and a long, rewarding finish. Aged in French oak (46% new), this is a wine of classic Left-Bank pedigree, built to develop but already very enjoyable.

Château Clauzet sits in good company in Saint-Estèphe, surrounded by famous neighbours like Montrose and Cos d’Estournel. 2017 was Baron Velge’s final vintage before passing the estate on, and it’s a lovely example of his work: fine tannins, fresh acidity and a long, confident finish. This is the sort of bottle people open over Christmas lunch and ask where you found it. A thoughtful gift for anyone who loves proper Bordeaux, or a smart addition to your own festive table.
