A rare Premier Cru Chardonnay rooted in centuries of monastic tradition. As the sole owner of this historic walled vineyard, the domaine farms it biodynamically, treating the 2.3-hectare monopole as a jewel of its portfolio.

The Clos’s mix of limestone, marl, and fossil-rich soils gives the wine its trademark balance: richness with tension, floral purity with mineral depth. Vines of varying ages contribute layers—young parcels for brightness and older vines for density and length.

In the cellar, Domaine de la Vougeraie favours gentle pressing, long fermentations, and carefully judged oak (always subtle), aiming to preserve the Clos’s signature: a Chardonnay of finesse, incense-like aromatics, and a saline, persistent finish.
