Chateau Alverne 2014, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru
Type: Red Wine
Grape(s): 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon
Wine Region: Saint-Emilion, Bordeaux
Tasting Notes: Woody nose and fruity flavours (cherry, blueberries), the result of true balance aromatic. Smooth and full-bodied wine, this vintage is skilfully balanced. It emphasises a wholehearted velvet combined with real depth and a long finish, both intense and respectful of the vintage. Aged in 100% new barrels for 18 to 22 months.
Suggested food and wine pairing: Consider grilled lamb chops or a roast lamb dish with herbs for a complementary combination. Or try with a vegetable ratatouille with a variety of Mediterranean vegetables can be a flavourful and satisfying option for a Merlot-dominant Bordeaux.
