Box Packer at Laymont & Shaw

Jamie started his career in the wine trade working as a box packer for his former employer, Laymont & Shaw (the widely respected spanish wine specialist), in the Old Chapel Cellars. With a degree in Spanish and History Jamie was a great asset to the company and was encouraged to work throught the ranks of Laymont & Shaw. This apprentiship was to lead on to him becomming a top performer at Laymont & Shaw.

Logistics at Laymont & Shaw

First level of promotion was to become Laymont & Shaw's direct shipments co-ordinator; liasing on shipments with large companies such as Selfridges & Waitrose for Laymont & Shaw. This led to stock handling and logistics (Stock control & re-ordering) for Laymont & Shaw.

Buyer at Laymont & Shaw

Eventually, with a proven track record, Jamie was encouraged to become the principal contact for the wineries on behalf of Laymont & Shaw in the UK. Sourcing the wines, price negotiation, developing relationships with the wineries becoame Jamie's most valuable role for Laymont & Shaw.

Award winning team at Laymont & Shaw

Jamie was a key part of the team in Laymont & Shaw who regularly won the "Wine Magazine" Spanish Specialist Merchant award. These awards still hang on the walls of the old Laymont & Shaw offices in the Old Chapel Cellars in Truro.
