The Estate: The Marco Abella family have been producing wines in the Priorat region since the 15th century. Marco Abella owns seven plots located on seven different mountains in the village of Porrera, Priorat. These are the highest plots of the Priorat region. They manage the vineyards with great care and respect for the environment, consistently employing the latest practices in organic farming. They only use indigenous yeasts in the fermentation process and age their wines in owned cellars located seven meters below ground level.
Winemaking: OLBIETA reflects the characteristics and essence of Mediterranean wines. Vines are situated at high elevation and not far from the Mediterranean coast. The influence of the vineyard soil (slate) and the Mediterranean climate create a true expression of terroir combined with white fruits and flowers. Aged in French oak for three month
