Tasting Notes: The flavour is smooth, flexible, and creamy, showcasing distinct peony, currant, sweet citrus, and liquorice tones. This Champagne is truly irresistible and would be a great pick for a pre-meal drink.
Champagne "Les Vignes de Montigny" is made from two plots on the southern slopes of Montigny. The exposure is due south on sands and marls, a mixture of clay and limestone called Marne. The plots are made up of young Pinot Noir (15 years old) and very old Meunier vines (65 years old). The wine is made in vats and barrels ( 70% - 30%) – Aging on lees. Without malolactic fermentation. Prolonged ageing on lees in bottles (3 to 4 years).
Suggested food and wine pairing: Try with mushroom-based recipes like a mushroom stroganoff or risotto.
