Jamie says: "The Jean Leon wines are Spanish icons and I thought it was about time they made a welcome return to the former Laymont & Shaw HQ. Although now owned by Torres (another Spanish icon) they have kept the same philosophy as when the wines were first launched, namely to produce some of the world's best wines from international varietals from single vineyard estates. The JeanLeon Chardonnay comes from the Gigi vineyard which has a clay and chalk sub-soil, excellent for growing superb Chardonnay. The wines are fermented in small French oak casks with a minimum of 6 months lees ageing. The Jean Leon Chardonnay has notes of vanilla, spice and also floral and stone-fruit notes with hints of melon and almond. Jean Leon Chardonnay is truly excellent."
