France is for many the spiritual home of wine.  One highlight I'd like to bring to your attention is the Domaine de Villargeau Sauvignon Blanc 2009 from Coteaux de Giennois, just north of Sancerre and Pouilly Fume in the Loire.  The reason for flagging up the Domaine de Villargeau Sauvignon Blanc is that it won a Trophy for best value white between £6 and £10 at the Internal Wine Challenge 2010 and it is a great example that proves France is still at the forefront of the world wine trade.
