Jamie says: "I must confess that I am a fan of Tannat (& Uruguay!) and have loved this wine for many years.  I know Javier Carrau personally and I admire him for his tenacity.  The Carrau family are pioneers in Uruguay and have been making the best wines in the country for over 25 years.  Wines fromUruguay are too seldom seen in the UK and it is a shame as they are pretty darn good!  The grapes are hand picked from low-yielding vines and fermentated in French and American oak.  Intense colour and bright cherry fruit flavours, this wine also has the potential to age well."
