Clos des Langres Monopole 2007, Ardhuy

Jamie says: "This wine has a seductive, opulent nose.  The palate carries good weight with a core of blackcurrant & black cherry flavours.  There is a hint of spice and good minerality - overall it is rich & round.  Clos de Langres has its own microclimate and is located between the Cotes of Nuits & Beaune.  Clos des Langres has long been noted for the quality of its production and was first cited as an outstanding parcel in 1855.  Low yielding vines are manually harvested, the juice is aged in oak for 1 year and then the wine is bottled without fining and only has a very light filtration.  Although approachable now this wine should show well over the next decade."
