In this section of the online wine store I will bring you some wines that you might not have tried before. That may be because the wines are new to the market or they are different in style to a lot of wines that are on the market.
Moncellier New Zealand wines are the product of Bill Spence and Greg Rowdon (formerly of Matua winery). Their philosophy is to produce quality wines from select vineyards... and this Moncellier New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is an excellent example. They also make fantastic Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir. The whole range picked up medals at the International Wine Challenge and this is their first outing on the UK market. The Monceliier Sauvignon Blanc was also picked out by Jane MacQuitty in her feature for The Times - 50 best summer white wines.
The Domaine de Villargeau Blanc is 100% Sauvignon Blanc from a little know AC known as Coteaux de Giennois which is just north of Sancerre and Pouilly Fume. It represents great value for money and picke up a Silver Medal at the 2010 International Wine Challenge.
To partner the Domaine de Villargeau Blanc we also list their rose. Domaine de Villargeau Rose is 70% Pinot Noir with the balance being gamay. Again, like the Domaine de Villargeau Blanc, it is fantastic value for money.
The Domaine des Trottieres Anjou rouge is another wine that Jane MacQuitty picked up on for her feature in The Times but this time it went in her 50 best summer reds. Lots of lovely redcurrant fruit.
